Quarterly review meeting of the Una District Credit Plan

Extend farm loans to card holders:  DC to bankers

Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Jain today said Rs 863.2 crore had been advanced as loans under the priority sector by banks in Una district against the target of 507.4 crore till September during the financial year, surpassing the target by 170 per cent.

Presiding over a quarterly review meeting of the District Credit Plan, the DC said priority sectors included agriculture, micro, small and medium enterprises, housing, education, export and social infrastructure.

He asked bankers to extend agriculture credit to all 45,170 kisan card holders and link them with the National Crop Insurance scheme.

The DC called upon banks to improve upon the district’s overall credit to deposit ratio and reach near the national target of 60 per cent. He said banks should ensure that benefits of all national programmes percolated down to the beneficiaries.

NABARD District Development Manager Dr Vivek Pathania presented a Potential Linked Credit Plan of Rs 1,122 crore for priority sectors in the district for the coming financial year, estimating an increase of 22 per cent over the current year.

Hamirpur circle head of lead bank SK Kala said 3,294 women self-help groups had been linked with various banks in the district till the end of September this year. RBI Lead Development Officer Ramesh Kumar also spoke.
